How to pronounce Jargon?

Was on a phone call recently with someone and the phrase ‘legal jargon’ came up. I pronounced it jar-gon and he pronounced it yar-gon.
I was certain about my pronunciation but as I will probably end up on a call with him again and the phrase might come up again I’m wondering if I’m right??

Oh thank goodness. From the title I was worried this was going to belong in the baby names section!

It actually would almost work - little Yargon.

Me too 😂. I was going to say however you pronounce it, it’s not a bloody name 😂

It’s Jar OP - the caller is obviously not as educated as he thinks he is 😬😄

I wonder if he would ask for a yar of yam in a grocery shop. 🤔
