Film for reflecting heat on windows?

One side of our house has been unbearable during this heatwave (with all windows closed and blinds pulled).

Is there something that can be put on window panes to help or would glass need to be replaced to deflect heat?

It's easy to do it yourself. I have the window film version for privacy.

We did this to the windows in Dh's south facing office. It will darken the room a little but it did make a huge difference to being scorched in there.
