Scared of the dentist

Tomorrow I’m having 4 teeth extracted (3 wisdom and one lower molar that had a root canal a few years ago).

I’m absolutely terrified about the appointment - how many injections on average should I expect? I know it’s not an exact science though. And are bottom teeth harder to extract than the top?

I think I’m worried about the pain more than anything, and I suppose a bit of the unknown too. I feel frustrated with myself that I let things get to a point where extractions were needed but ah well. It was supposed to be done under general but that scared me more than anything else so I said I’d have it done with local but now I kind of regret my decision.

I’ve only had teeth out under sedation (bloody amazing, worth thinking about!). But remember your dentist will have extracted many, many teeth.
Aftercare wise, when I had several teeth out at once it was not too bad. I ate soft foods for a couple of days. A few months ago I had another tooth out, my dentist stitched it when it was done and I had no soreness with it at all.
Good luck x

You shouldn't experience any pain at all during the extraction OP, the anaesthetic is meant to take care of that.
Dentist usually swabs an anaesthetic on the gums before injecting the site(s) then has you wait the appropriate time for it to take effect.
You might feel pressure at times during the procedure.
You might have some stitches done after, which is beneficial to healing.
This has been my experience, and that was more than a few teeth, years ago.
Dentistry has only improved ( a lot) since then!
You'll be so glad you got it done, and with proper post op pain management and recommended nutrition , you'll heal quickly.
All the best tomorrow OP x
