Recently I was on a bus that stopped outside an outdoor swimming pool. It was just last week so insanely hot and humid.
To my surprise a woman was waiting to get on clad only in a swimsuit. Definitely not shorts style, like pants at the thighs. It was a nice enough swimsuit for the pool! It was a first sight for my eyes!
She was quite short and probably size 18-20?
Would this have surprised/bothered you? I think even if she was a willowy young model it would be inappropriate?
Am I behind the times? 🤔😀

It’s an unusual outfit for the bus. I’d probably want to know she was bone dry before she sat next to me, and I’d probably assume that there were no lockers and her clothes had gone walkabout.

But, thinking about it, I don’t think it would actually bother me. Smoking and playing shit music bothers me more. If she wasn’t doing either of those, I’d stop taking notice after a moment or two.

I’ve only just read the title of your thread properly. What exactly was it that bothered you more? Her choice of clothing or her size? Because you say it would still be inappropriate for a tall, willowy woman, but you’ve mentioned her size more than necessary.

I guess its each to their own. I work in a supermarket and when we had that hot weather a young women came in wearing a with a small bikini and a crochet skirt that was more holes than actual skirt. I def wouldn't but it doesn't bother me.

Size 18/20 woman wearing a swimsuit and going swimming, absolutely fine, why ever not?

Anyone getting on a bus in a swimsuit, no, they should be properly dressed. You know when shops, bars and restaurants put up signs asking people to not enter in swimwear and you wonder who needs to be told? That's her.

Plus it's unhygienic, in France men are not allowed to swim in clothes that could pass as normal clothes because they consider it unhygienic in the pool, however that doesn't work if they don't account for people who think it's acceptable to wear swimwear while out and about, which it's not.
