UC - do I get free dental treatment

Its very confusing that unsure if I am entitled to it. Get the basic rate with no additional payments.

I am worried as 6 months ago, I said to the dentist receptionist that I claim JSA and she ticked it. Then got a letter about 10 weeks later to pay the dental check up plus £100. I was in JSA around 2008 and then it was free.

It depends on your earnings, the attached link gives more information - it isn’t an automatic entitlement https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/help-nhs-dental-costs/free-nhs-dental-treatment. Even if you are entitled to, if your dentist isn’t an NHS dentist and is private you will still have to pay for dental work.
