Was watching the live aid 40 yesterday, I was born in 88, so essentially was brought up on 80’s music, after watching live aid it became perfectly clear that 80’s music is the far superior music decade. My ds17 absolutely loves 80’s music, he schools me on music quiz games. Thinking of all the artist around in the 80’s. I think my fave year would be 1984, had some absolute bangers.

I'm a Hildegard Von Bingen kind of girl.

Me too! A bit niche though.

Most people are obviously just going to say whatever decade they grew up. That’s perfectly understandable, but it’s nothing to do with the actual music, and everything to do with nostalgia.

I’m in my 50s and, being as objective as I can, I would say that the 1970s (ie before ‘my era’) was probably the best decade for music, with the highest proportion of major artists whose work has stood the test of time and influenced what followed, then the 1990s, then the 60s, then the 80s, which actually was ‘my era’.

Then a massive gap to the dross of the 21st century, which has been a constant diet of worthless talent show karaoke & generic over produced RnB / hip-hop rubbish which really does all sound the same.

Amen.

I loved the huge glut of landfill indi bands in the mid 2000s

90s through to now, house/techno/electronica/indie.
Started going to raves at 16 in ‘91 then moved onto the superclubs of the mid/late nineties and into the 00s.

I love a good day rave now, especially a ‘reunion’ of a club/brand.

I’ll always get tickets if the Chemical Brothers/Orbital/Leftfield et al are playing.
Recent-ish highlight was seeing Bicep live (brilliant)
Saw LCD Soundsystem last month, again brilliant.
Off to see Oasis next week!

Absolutely agree! Every music era truly has something special to offer. I also enjoy tuning my playlist to match my vibe. By the way, when it comes to gaming fun, unlock all in carx street mod apk gives the same excitement as Spotify does for music lovers—total freedom and endless enjoyment!

I absolutely love northern soul. Heard John Newman on the radio today which led me to revisit the video for 'Love Me Again'. Love the northern soul vibe to that, which only enhances my love for the track.

1990s were the best!! IMO
