What to see/do in York?

We have a few days coming up in York soon, we've never been. I quite fancy doing a tour bus thingy to cover the main areas. Does anyone have any recommendations please?
No kids with us.

We went in January and had a great time. Fairly lucky with the weather. It was nice that the museums weren’t crowded and there was lots of room walking the walls - but they were closed on some days as were icy. We did an evening ghost walk which was cold but v good. We stayed at the YMCA which I’d really recommend. It’s about a 25 min walk into town along the river which was lovely - or a short bus ride.
