I've been prescribed Vyvanse for adult ADHD. Any experiences of it please? Or advice? TIA

I didn’t get on well with it at all, but dh (who also has adhd) really gets on well with it and helps the adhd noise for him and really really helped him both at work and at home because of that. My advice is just try it and see and let your dr know if you’re struggling at all.

I had 30mg and 50mg. Mixed feelings, some amazing results, bad side effects. Stopped now (but I miss my brain on 50mg). I think it's worth trying and keeping a diary of how you feel while you're using it.

Thank you very much for these posts, and apologies for a delayed response. I guess the only way to find out is to try. I'm nervous though.

Takes a bit of getting used to, so eat plenty of protein when you take it, and drink plenty of water. It’s helped me but not miraculously. The only thing is to try it and see.

Thank you for the advice. @WhisperingJesse , may I ask why you recommend protein? Is it because protein is good for health generally, or is it something specific to vyvanse?

Apologies for my slow responses - I'm currently working a horrendous shifts schedule.

@Miner4aHeartofGoldIt’s the advice given to me both by my prescriber and various people on ADHD FB groups. It can make you nauseous until you get used to it, but having protein at the same time significantly reduces this symptom.

That's a great tip - thank you @WhisperingJesse

I’ve found it life-changing - the only way to know if it agrees with you is to give it a go!

That's very encouraging to hear @Knit, thank you !
