Just watching live aid. I was 5 at the time. I’m a huge music fan now and if I could turn back time and see anything live it would be this!

did any of you know someone who went? Or did you go?

Yes, I know several people who were in the Wembley Stadium crowd. I was there at the Arena the same night to see Dire Straits. When we came out it was really busy and there were police on horses keeping the crowds leaving on the move. I can't remember where we parked, but we got home to my ex's parents house in Englefield Green ok.

Yes, a friend was there. He loves talking about it, it was a brilliant day for him.

Those were great days for music.
I couldn't go to Live Aid as couldn't get the time off work but saw Springsteen and Queen at Wembley Arena that same year

DH was there. He is feeling very nostalgic right now!

I worked with people who went. It wasn't my bag.

My friend, she went to Wham the final too, so jealous

My Grandad worked on Production at Live Aid, he was to the side of the Stage through the entire event - his Photos from that day are incredible!

Imicola · 12/07/2025 20:36

Yes, a group of colleagues were discussing it recently. Some were there, and some regretted not going but they all said they found it inspirational at the time. I was too young, so I was not there!

Yes I do. I had a party as it was my 13th birthday.

I was working at Boots Wembley High Street that Saturday. You could hear it on the way home

Yes my friend and her husband.. we were all 26.. I'd just had my first child.
Unfortunately my friend got crushed there and miscarriaged. I remember sat breast feeding and watching it.
I've watched it a few times scince and I've got it on now.

I was there with a group of friends. We queued up for tickets at Tottenham Court Road. I think it was the big Virgin record store, but can’t be sure. Got all the T-shirts as well. Actually can’t remember much about it now as my london years were a bit heavy on the illegals. I’m a responsible grandma now 😂
Also did the Sport Aid run in London , I think it was the following year and my bum was on the bbc news that night as I was filmed bending over gasping for breath.

No but I went to the Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley in 1988, Whitney Houston was the best there.

KarlaKK · 12/07/2025 22:53

I was there age 20. Not on the pitch, quite far back on the left as you face the stage. Had a seat. It was great. Still got the brochure and ticket and another book on it. I've hardly been to any concerts since but my DS was impressed when I told him I was there. I've also seen Jeff Buckley who he loves so I get some extra points for that :)

My neighbour was sixteen and in her first job-printing Live Aid t-shirts. Herself and her colleagues all got free tickets
