Found a skeleton on the beach, Wondering if anyone knows what it might be?

Found yesterday on a beach in Northern Ireland, Does anyone know what this could be? Marked image as sensitive as I wasn't sure if I could post it here or not..

What sort of size is it? Could it be human? You need to call the police if so.

Have you got a picture showing the shape of the vertebrae? I suspect seal/porpoise but that would help narrow it down.

You'd really need something in the picture e.g. your phone or keys for size for reference to get a good answer here. I'm guessing there was no skull nearby that would have given more clues?
If it's conceivably human size (baby to adult), you need to call the police.

That's not a human sternum, no need to call police.

The ribs are too deep for it to be human I reckon so animal, sheep is my best guess or something that size. I like a previous posters guess of seal, makes sense being on a beach. No idea what a seal skeleton looks like.

We found what we thought was a bleached clean seal skeleton last year on the beach. The dog stole and crunched up the skull before we could get a photo but we brought some ribs and vertebrae home for the bone collection. But then a friend told me it's actually a porpoise skeleton and our bits are illegal to possess 😬

I agree, the ribs are too deep and the wrong shape IMO.

From the shape of the manubrium, I would expect it's a seal

I've just spent a fairly gruesome five minutes googling seal skeleton images, and it does seem to me that this is a seal.

Also think it doesn’t look human. Too round. Human rib cages are more flat (front to back).

The rib cage looks quite large so probably a seal sheep as suggested by others.
