When was the last time that you wrote out a cheque?

I just found my old cheque book and the last that I used was 5th May 2005.

Assuming that you’re old enough to have used them, when do you think you last used a cheque?

At least 12 years ago.

My passive-aggressive knob of a father probably only writes them twice a year when he sends DS birthday and Christmas money ( he and I fell out and he won’t transfer money to a bank account with my name on).

Last week to the DVLA for a form that had to be sent by post with the payment.

Eleven years ago buying a CD from a band when drunk at a festival. I do remember they found it hilarious.

2013 I think

Changes banks in 2015 and didn't ask for a cheque book

Used a cheque - within the last month. My 95yr old grandma still sends them when it’s my DDs’ birthdays, so I had to pay one in.

I can’t remember the last time I wrote one. Probably over 10 years ago. I’m 33 and I think have probably only ever written about 5 cheques in my life.

February for teenagers' birthdays. I like to be retro with them (whether they like it or not).

About a month ago to the DVLA for something that couldn’t be done online. Had to order a new cheque book to do so as had no idea where my old one was!

About 3 years ago settling some monies whilst dealing with my late husband’s estate. I had to contact the bank to request a cheque book.

last Month…I was quite impressed I could find it!

Each month to pay the milk bill it’s that or cash and as I leave it out overnight a cheque it is.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 12/07/2025 13:45

DVLA a couple of years ago. No idea why they won't take a bank transfer. Even my window cleaner and milkman do payments by bank transfer.

I have never written a cheque in my life. I am 42. I did receive one recently though. I showed it to my tween and took them with me to deposit it just in case they ever receive one.

Last week, to pay my paper bill. I love cheques and lament their demise.
