I’ve just finished a 8 day hike from Bavaria to South Tyrol and have 2 days to relax in Venice before flying home on Sunday evening.
It’s my first time here. Would love ideas for relaxing slow paced things to do. Not really up for standing in long queues after my week 😂

Get a day pass for the vaporetto boats and pootle up the Grand Canal and back, and/or take the long route down the outside of Dorsoduro

Vaporetto to the Lido for a swim?

Vaporetto to Murano and watch some glass blowing demonstrations- most are walk-in

Go to an evening classical concert in the Chiesa di San Vidal

The Leonardo museum is supposed to be good I think

Generally stroll around with a gelato

The Lido for a swim in this heat. Trips around the city on boats. Book for tours of the Doge's Palace and L'Academia.

Echo checking the classical music events often put on for tourists.

Oh wow, congratulations on your hike!!

How hot is it in Venice right now??

The one day pass for the Vaporetto is a good idea, but I would explore the outer islands of the lagoon: Burano, Torcello, maybe a leisurely lunch at one of the osterias on Sant Erasmo or Le Vignole (or Torcello)? And yes, a swim on the Lido (free beaches at either end of the island).

Campo Santa Margherita is the best place for just relaxing with a spritz, coffee or ice cream (Caffe Rosso, and there is also a very good gelateria there).

Fondamenta della Misericordia has a buzzy row of cafes and bars- a good place to sit on the edge of the canal of an evening with a drink, cicchetti (which I suppose you could call Venetian tapas) or a meal. It's close to the Ghetto for a spot of light sightseeing- and Madonna dell'Orto, as pretty a church as any in Venice, and definitely off the main tourist highway.

Your only problem with being there with tired feet is that it's definitely a walking city, so you may end up adding to your step count whether you want to or not!

I find it so weird that some people rock up somewhere without doing any prior research about what they might like to see or do. It's not like Venice is a little known destination with not much information out there about it.

Thanks for the helpful comment. I find it so weird that people take time out of their day to write condescending comments but there you go…
I spent time researching the main part of my holiday which was a 7 day through hike over the alps. I have a busy job, my son got married 10 days before I left which took up
a lot of my time 😂.
Anyway I really appreciate the time people have taken with lovely ideas. Keep them coming ❤️

All of this.
Be aware that vaporettos to islands can be manically busy and maybe not relaxing, maybe go early in the day to Murano, it's worth it.

@crackofdoom thanks for the congratulations 🥰. It was fantastic
It’s not too hot, 26 degrees or so.
