Would you think I was gay?

I have recently changed jobs and my colleagues seem to have formed the initial impression that I am gay. This isn't a problem at all, it was just amusing how widely it was thought!
Hair not dyed. Never wear makeup, or dresses or skirts. Nails not done, no Botox or filler.
Multiple piercings in each ear, nose piercing. Multiple rings and bracelets. My lanyard is rainbow.
I don't think any of this means anything one way or the other! Confused I don't think there is a typical way that either a gay or straight person presents! We are all so different so you can't tell from first sight!

How do you know?

If I ask new colleagues about their partner I deliberately use gender neutral terms because I don't want to assume.

Rainbow lanyard at a place where people don't signal allyship might usually mean LGB.

I’d have said no until you mentioned the rainbow lanyard, that might have given them the impression perhaps?
Strange that so many thought you were gay.
I know lots of women who I could describe as you describe yourself and they don’t “look” gay, aren’t mistaken as gay and aren’t gay.

I think it’s the lanyard
