been sacked for inappropriate behaviour. Sorry Geri!

But where has it been said it’s because of inappropriate behaviour? Not in the articles I’ve read. It’s all been about team performance.

Permanentlymisunderstood · 09/07/2025 16:28

A lot of key team members have gone recently.
The second seat is toxic.
Jos hates him and the team are panicking that Max will walk, and leave them with nothing.
If ditching Horner will stem some of that tide then of course they will do it.
The man is a creep, regardless of whatever he’s been ‘cleared’ of.
Geri will be just fine.

MBJ15 · 09/07/2025 16:52

Long time coming and I reckon maxi put his foot down, he goes or I go

LadyRoughDiamond · 09/07/2025 16:52

If they split up, will Geri start wearing a new colour?

MBJ15 · 09/07/2025 16:53

harriethoyle · 09/07/2025 11:44

Red Bull have been failing for months. The second driver seat is dead men's shoes and it's difficult to think of a race in which significant points were scored by number 2. When you think of Checo Perez who was regularly top 5 but who Horner sacked last year (at huge expense) and compare that to Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda's performances he has got the strategy totally wrong - and now Max Verstappen isn't winning it's painfully apparent...

It will be interesting to see if this now leads to a statement of loyalty to the team from Max and Jos...!

This!

agree, with pressure from his dad who didn’t like Horner.

Drive to survive will be interesting next year

Not strictly true.
RB protected him with their internal investigations. If they wanted to fire him for that, the time has long passed.
The issue is more likely connected to contract negotiations with their key driver, Max - who is rumoured to be going to Mercedes. He’s only considering it because the car is an absolute sack of shit. They’ve burnt through several second drivers - all of which talented, varying degrees of experience, none of whom can drive the car. Even Max is struggling in it: ‘this car is undrive-able’.
Externally, his image is rightly destroyed by the accusations last year, but internally there’s much more to it.
FWIW I can’t stand the guy so this is in no way a defence of him 😂

Can you please tell us where this has actually been said to be the case?

Max is struggling so much he put the car on pole position last week and would probably have won the race were it not for the rain.

BakedBeansforabrain · 09/07/2025 18:11

Poor Geri what’s she going to do for money now

better get those vocal cords warmed up

mnahmnah · 09/07/2025 18:15

I agree that something else has happened, papers got hold of it, can’t avoid it and it’s likely true. Damage limitation to sack him before it comes out.

JustMyView13 · 09/07/2025 18:47

Aaron95 · 09/07/2025 17:30

There’s fractions of seconds in that, you could say it about many on the grid. If it weren’t for the rain / safety car etc etc
He’s a phenomenal driver, but there’s a reason he’s not winning every week with 15/20 second leads like prior seasons. And that’s because the other teams are building faster cars.

RJ2023 · 09/07/2025 19:17

As Ferrari demonstrate time and time again - you can't fire your way back to the top of F1. Maybe his replacement Laurent Mekies will do a better job - but I doubt it.

Given the major rule changes next year where the top teams will go back to having a major advantage over the smaller teams I think they will regret sacking somebody with 20 years of experience of leading that team and the knowledge of how to dominate the sport.

hyggetyggedotorg · 09/07/2025 19:25

DH knows somebody “in the know” apparently.

It is inappropriate behaviour with more than more woman making new allegations.

LuckysDadsHat · 09/07/2025 19:29

I find it convenient that he was sacked the day after Toto was given official permission to contact Max about a seat at Mercedes. Almost as if Jos did say Max will stay if xyz happens.

Aaron95 · 10/07/2025 07:18

The two additional departures were Oliver Hughes, Chief Marketing Officer, and Paul Smith, Group Director of Communications—both closely linked to Horner. Their exits further reflect the sweeping changes inside Red Bull’s leadership.

Sounds like Red Bull are having a bit of a clear out of senior managers.

ToClimb · 10/07/2025 07:29

They have lost half of the senior team in the past few months and RB have been doing shockingly. Maybe they think that CH wasnt actually the reason they were good and maybe it had something to do with all the people who used to work for him (that he has alienated).

LeaAndDer · 10/07/2025 08:51

He has further upsetting problems in that his former wife has died leaving their 11 daughter motherless.

TheAmusedQuail · 10/07/2025 09:26

Gowlett · 09/07/2025 10:58

The papers have something. It will be a sex scandal.
Geri didn’t want a divorce. But she’ll have to cash in.

Exactly this. I'm sure she'll stick by him, hoping against hope the scandal doesn't come out. She's in the Colleen Rooney camp. Stick by the money and status.

Her life her choice.

Oh that’s awful. Her poor sons and daughter.

Poonu · 10/07/2025 11:19

They've sacked him, that means no settlement.
It's weird (and sad) that there's been no mention of the fact that the mother of his daughter passed away two weeks ago from cancer.
In case anyone forgot, he left her for Geri, a few weeks after she gave birth to their daughter. That was cited as a reason for CH parents not attending his wedding to Geri.

Lafufufu · 10/07/2025 11:20

CagneyNYPD1 · 09/07/2025 11:07

He’s been sacked because of Red Bull’s team performance in the past 12 months. Nothing to do with the allegations. It’s money. It’s always money.

Unfortunately this.

He hasn't been sacked. He has been relieved of duties. He reportedly has a contract which runs until 2030. Red Bull will either have to continue to pay that or reach a settlement with Horner. There are reports that this will cost Red Bull around £30 million.
