Sending a heartfelt thank you

I'm thinking of sending a detailed (a couple of sentences so hopefully not to an inappropriate level) thank you email to a venue I visited today. In difficult family circumstances due to illness the visit and the main staff member made a really big difference to our day. I've written a message but sitting on it for now as I've had a couple of wines. I'm wondering if anyone has sent or received a similar message and how it went.

Just a simple "thank-you for making today much smoother" (without knowing details) in a card.

Send it. People are always so quick to leave negative comments but not the good ones, so I’m sure your card will be appreciated.

I agree. Just showing your appreciation after all .
I always make a point of thanking staff when they have been super nice.

Wait till you’re sober then reread and send

Send it.

I'm the first to complain if things are wrong so I also compliment when things are right.

Good advice! I've re-read this morning and will send!
