Weird things that give you irrational anxiety

For me it’s pressing a button to an entry phone to speak to gain access to a building. It really makes me nervous.

If someone leaves the TV volume on an odd number. Only psychopaths can watch TV like it.

Weirdo. 😱

Having TV too loud esp when there is a violent/guns type scene on.

It makes my heart race. I think I was always told off for having TV on so loud, plus I feel vulnerable to burglars at that time. Never been burgled. But had some mindless vandalism done to our garden wall when I was a teenager and the noises were really loud.

I only set things to odd numbers! Tv 19, alarm 6:21.

For me it's realising the train doors are near me to open. Do I march up and press the button? Do I hover until someone else takes charge?

People walking too close to me

Shetlands · 07/07/2025 13:38

I'll walk the long way around rather than cut through a boatyard because I hate the underside of boats. If I see a picture/film of the underside of a ship I feel faint!

I’ve just remembered my fear of single gloves.

Nooo. I like ones that ends in 5, hear me out though, I see the volume in blocks of 10 and anything that ends in a 5 feel like a nice even number even as it’s half way, and halves are equal and even. I’d prefer the volume or anything in life to only be on numbers that end in zero but sometimes I have to compromise as it’s a big leap depending on what it is. 😂

The volume at 22 would be “odd” number in my head and id have to change it to 20 or 25

Our microwave you have to press a combo of 10 seconds, 30 seconds, or one minute. If something needs like three mins then I press the 30 seconds six times instead of the one min three times. My husband is baffled by me but it genuinely makes me feel like the food is tainted and I can’t eat it. If he’s cooking and needs to use it it’s fine in my head if he does it different and I can eat it but not if I’ve pressed an uneven number of times.

Walking up stairs that have gaps in them 😱.

There's a ghost story called 'With and Without Buttons' about single gloves appearing mysteriously in a house... you'd hate it! 🤣😂
