Enhanced maternity leave - when can I change jobs?

I was looking to change jobs before got pregnant so obviously put my job search on hold. However, when can I change jobs after maternity leave. We have enhanced maternity leave pay for 6months (I am back to work straight after) and then policy states I need to be employed for at least 6 months after my return otherwise will have to pay back enhanced maternity leave.

My understanding is that I can work 3 months, give in my notice of 3 months and that would count as 6 months (it doesn't mention anything in the policy about it, just says 6 months employment). Is my understanding correct?

Yes you are still employed in your notice period

Also taking any annual leave you have accrued through mat leave would count towards the 6 months :)

Are you looking for an external move?

Moving internally you remain employed by them so that’s not an issue.

Thank you ladies 🌺That's what I was thinking as well but thought better to check just in case there's something I am not thinking about.

I would be looking for external move. I suppose it all depends on the market and also how I am coping with motherhood.
