Rent a villa with a pool, somewhere between Orlando and Tampa. I’m assuming you want to go to Disney? If so, Lakeland is situated between.

Don’t do July is my advice. Weather can be very wet which in turn closes lots of rides in the parks. It’s also very hot and humid too. We’re going in April and October for this reason as weather much better.

I’ve heard this about the weather but unfortunately I can’t get two weeks in April or October off work 😔

In that case, what I’d do is make the most of the parks opening late and do this:
hire a villa with a pool so that you can get up for rope drop and do some attractions, leave around early afternoon for a few hours and have fun in the pool at home, then head back to the parks early evening when it’s cooler and pick up on more of the attractions

There’s also really good planning tips on the following groups:-
it’s Orlando time on Facebook
The Dibb

even though we’ve been lucky enough to go to Orlando a number of times, I’m very active on the above groups as there’s always new things to learn etc and they are all super friendly and helpful too :)

We go to Florida every year but you could not pay me to go to Orlando or anywhere near it.

@ScratCatim intrigued as to what other nice things there are to do? Do you head to Clearwater / Daytona direction?
