Tube for 10 year olds

Hi

I am going to take my 2 dc to London over the summer holidays. My understanding is that dc age 10 and over pay for tube travel. I usually just tap in and out with my card. How does this work with kids? Can I just give her my card to another account or is there a child's price that we can access someway?

It's only a day trip so don't want to waste too much time faffing.

Thanks

It's free for 10 year olds.

Use the wider gate and take your child through with you at the same time.

Are they both 10 and under? If so take them both through.

If one is 11 or older give them a different card to go through with. You can get the child price on the tube by getting a Young Visitor status added to a travelcard for a child 11 and over, but probably not worth faffing for.

Big gates are your friend. They are often manned so people don't get trapped.

Thanks everyone. I thought the charge was from 10, not 11 so that's great info.
