Are we moving into the Omaze Cheshire house?

I think I’ll have to sell it too many windows to clean and I wouldn’t know where to start with cleaning a pool.

I could be persuaded to live in the area though.

Is it a little footballers wives in that area? I think it would be a sell for me.

The Rooney’s live there, I believe. Think Paddy McGuinness does too.

I live a few miles from Alderley Edge and I’d sell it. Or rent it out to a footballer of some sort.

It’s a nice area but I’m not convinced it’s that nice.

Renamed · 06/07/2025 14:31

Oh dear, no. That looks like an edge of Californian desert house, flat roof and all, transported to an area where you can get rain 200 days a year…

TwelvePercent · 06/07/2025 14:47

I'd have a fantastic party there first, then take any furnishings I liked - maybe one of those spin bikes - & then flog it for a total steal to some footballer or whoever.
I'd spend the cash paying off the mortgage and making my own normal house, near to my family & friends, completely spectacular!

What a great dream.

DicentraAlba · 06/07/2025 14:51

We’ll be having a great big family Christmas in the house and then selling it. My lips are too thin to spend any more time in the area than that.

Crunchymum · 06/07/2025 15:35

Too modern, too soulless, too bland.

I'd sell. Although it's the total opposite from any house I've ever lived in so who knows maybe I'd go for a vist and end up loving it?

RafaistheKingofClay · 06/07/2025 15:52

Sell. It would be like living in a goldfish bowl.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 06/07/2025 16:18

You'd probably spend £4 million just on window cleaning fees...

I'd second the 'like living in a goldfish bowl' comment! In addition to a lack of privacy (I mean, I've terrified a delivery driver with my naturally wild hair and pyjamas before now, let alone anyone else...), you'd be driven up the wall by dog/cat pawprints, small children pressing their noses up on it, and just the general fingerprints. I really hope that they have blackout curtains, too, as it would be so hard to sleep with all of that light pouring in!

I would definitely sell it and buy something more along the lines of a Victorian property with original features and style, plus elegant but vintage furnishings!

Oh god no. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere near Paddy McGuiness. I can imagine hearing him and his big, loud talentless gob when I’m sitting in the garden.

DesperatelySeekingHelp · 06/07/2025 17:37

Realllllllllly silly question alert 🚨. Does one have to log in every month to see if they’ve won or would you be informed?

FurForksSake · 06/07/2025 17:53

You can check but I’m certain it says they also contact you also.

Sharkpenis · 06/07/2025 18:04

Why is it only 4 bedroom but 5 bathrooms?

LemondrizzleShark · 06/07/2025 18:09

I’d sell. I quite like the outside, but not the location, and actually the floor plan makes it look like the bedrooms are tiny.

You’d also need a few extra million to run the pool!

Every bedroom is en suite, plus there’s a shower room near the pool.

EachandEveryone · 06/07/2025 18:16

How do I maintain a pool

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 06/07/2025 18:40

I think I’d employ someone to do pool maintenance! There must be a service like having a gardener or a cleaner that will pop in at the required intervals. I think you just check the ph regularly and add chemicals as indicated, run a vacuum, clean out the filters and skim off any debris.

KaitlynnFairchild · 11/07/2025 10:04

I would live in this one, I love a nice big window my plants would be very happy living there.

yallahbye · 11/07/2025 10:07

The thing about Omaze is that they require winners to go public with their winning. If the winner refuses it, they won’t get the house. I personally wouldn’t like to advertise it publicly that I’ve won a £5-10 million house, but each to their own.

Ye, too much glass. Not cosy.

I feel a lot of modern houses do give an 'wildlife visitor centre' vibe.

FurForksSake · 11/07/2025 12:15

I love the pool and gym area, I’d be selling it k think but keeping all the gym equipment!

HerVagestyTheQueef · 11/07/2025 12:20

Oh I like the house, but not sure I'd I'd want to move there! If I could transport the house down to where I live, that'd be great.
I could force myself to go public, for the sake of £4m!

HowtoDothisagain · 11/07/2025 12:21

Is it true they don’t select a winner at random but select multiple then do credit checks on them?

NewAgeNewMe · 11/07/2025 12:22

It’s not for me. So I haven’t entered as I wouldn’t want it even in the very unlikely event that I won. It’s also a bit of trek from me so I’ve vetoed it.

ohtowinthelottery · 11/07/2025 13:18

Definitely not my sort of house and I don't think the neighbours would be my type either. It would definitely be a 'list it' from me.
