Early May I have cough- caught from my husband after a long haul flight most likely. I recover and feel better for late may bank hol - not 100% but better.
On the 3rd June I stated with another “summer cold” which I think was Covid. I feel dreadful.
16 days later I had a “rattly cough” with chest congestion and felt dreadful and was prescribed amoxicillin (over the phone by a GP) for a week. I have one day ofsick. All I was doing is going to work and coming home and either working from home or going to bed. The chest congestion goes. I feel a bit better But I still have an awful dry cough and hoarse throat and. Then day 26 I start with vertigo (I’ve had severe labrinthitis before) and prescribed betahistine and told cough can last for 6 weeks. Told to call back if it gets worse for F2F with go or call 111.
My colleagues are unhappy as they have had to do some of my work and I keep crying!!
I feel absolutely dreadful and am off work again today. I’m tearful, stressed about work and feel awful. I have called again and been told they can’t give me a F2F with a GP and need to see the nurse practitioner to book it. So I’m waiting for a call.
What can I do. I’ve exercised twice since march due to big holiday and then two rounds of endless Covid. I feel dreadful. They ask me how I feel and I can’t answer other than dreadful! I’m frustrated with the GP surgery too - it’s really sad you have to demand to be treated - their words not mine!
