Urgent question for anyone who knows about cooking potatoes!

If peeled potatoes have been in water for 3-4 days, but not refrigerated (in room temperature, possibly a bit warmer given beast) would they need to be thrown? Water has been changed a couple of times. They have a slimy texture.

Just a yes throw them or no can still be used will be fine!!
