Help, what to get as a leaving gift for DS's amazing home tutor?

DS has had a home tutor/mentor since 2020 as part of his reintegration to school process. Over the last 5 years he has worked absolute wonders and DS is now ready to be back in school full time from September 🎊🎉

I thought his last day here would be next Friday but DS has just told me it's tomorrow.

I don't really do teacher gifts but this man has honestly gone above and beyond and, I know it's cheesy, but he has been such a big part of changing DS's life over the last 5 years. So I would like to get him something but am totally stuck for ideas. He is a very quiet reserved man, likes outdoorsy stuff and walking holidays and history. I was planning to go to a proper town at the weekend to look for inspiration (we live in the sticks) but now I need to find something today and my mind is blank!

a millets voucher?

A Cook voucher was one of the nicest presents I ever got - the gift of good food and time off from cooking myself!

Near us is a steam train you can go for Sunday lunch / curry / afternoon tea on whilst it pootles through the country side. We loved that as a wedding gift

The nicest thing I ever received: a rose, which every time it flowers (right now in fact) makes me think very fondly of the family/children.
but I think a voucher for Cotswold outdoor so he can choose something suitable would also be lovely

This may not be your thing, and in this case you might want something specifically for him-but my go to present for teachers is an education related Oxfam Unwrapped voucher.

Amazon/ John Lewis / M&S vouchers.

I presume you don't know him that well so generic vouchers allows you to show appreciation and him to choose something he wants.

Ask if he’s allowed to receive gifts, frequently it’s not in a one to one setting.
A card is allowed.

Oh, and men like flowers too! You can join my one-woman campaign on this one….
