Do you use Doodle to organise friends get-togethers?

I find myself as coordinator of 2-3 groups who meet up 3-4 times a year.

One is a real pain; I’ll send our 15(!) alternative dates, most people out of the six will reply ‘I can do this, this, not that, this’ etc, but one person will always reply with ‘I can do 15/8’. End of discussion. She absolutely does have other availability, but 15/8 suits her best.

Then others might change plans etc to accommodate 15/8- then she DOESN’T TURN UP (‘Sorry, long day, have fun, see you next time’ etc). But when we do all make it, it’s a fun night so we go on doing it (7 years, now!).

I digress. I’m looking for a free polling app so if ‘15/8’ polls lower, we go for the best one/s and she can suddenly find additional availability!

I use WhatsApp poll. Easy.

we had someone like this in our friendship group. It just demonstrated she didn’t prioritise us. She is an ex friend.

I used to use Doodle, but like @ZenNudist we just use WhatsApp polls now.

WhatsApp polls. Makes all of this so much easier for choosing a date and location. Preface all polls with “we’ll go with the majority” and then the 15/8s of the world might find the will to find time in their busy and important life. We all know one 😂

I find doodle really difficult because my availability changes a lot, so I can’t leave 15 dates open even if technically they are all “currently” free, so I wait on a poll until a few dates are getting popular and then vote for one or two of those.

I would never get arsey if a different date was picked and I might be able to move stuff if needed.
