Are you an over thinker? How does it manifest in your life?

I am a big over thinker, its bad because it often stops me taking action but it can also be good because I can gain a lot of insight from the way I tend to look at things from all angles and drill down into issues but their has to be a balance I think. I should probably put it to work for me by having a more cerebral job!

Anyone else tend to over think and how does it affect you?

I am massively yeah. I always worry about letting someone down- probably an issue that stems from childhood. It then goes on to affect my day to day, like I’m a big people pleaser, and if I were to ever disappoint someone it affects me a lot.

I get a lot of choice paralysis too

@OpalOwls Do you ever feel it benefits you in anyway? I see it as double edge sword for the most part.

I think so yeah (just realised I listed the cons without the pros 🤣)

I think it helps with problem solving a lot. Like I can quickly come up with solutions for things because I can think about the different aspects of something. It also gives me a big appreciation for just how amazing the world and life can be, just seeing how everything works together.

Yep I can relate to much of what you have both said. I over analyze conversations I've had that are utterly irrelevant and don't matter as I may not even see that person again. See things in emails or messages that probably aren't even there 🙄 I am trying really hard not to be like this and be more like DH who is the opposite 😅

On the plus side, like Opalowls has described, I might come up with things that DH hasn't considered because he'll just shoot to the first option and that's it. No further thought.

I am thinking RSD (rejection sensitivity dysphoria) is heavily linked to over thinking in general. If you haven't heard of it, it's worth looking up. I'd never heard of it until a couple of years ago.
