The Rage I feel about Littering from Cars

About three hours ago I walked to my local Co-Op in Ipswich. It's obviously not the nicest of towns to live in but I live in a (relatively) nice part of it.

On that half mile walk there were five cases where people had just dumped all of the waste from their McDonalds, Burger King, KFC over the grass verge / road / pavement. Massive amounts of bags, uneaten food, bottles of drink etc. literally all just thrown out of their car windows for somebody else to clean up.

I feel a huge amount of rage about it.

I don't know if anyone feels the same but I wish it was treated as a higher priority crime in this Country. Maybe not quite the response you'd get for doing that in Singapore - but something similar!

That and fly tipping. It's just awful. Can't understand why people CBA disposing of stuff. Would they leave food wrappers, bottles lying around at home? Fly tipping with building waste, old furniture etc. dispose of it properly and make the world around you that bit better

When I see this poor behaviour I day dream that I have magic powers and I can cast a spell that puts all the rubbish that people throw from their cars underneath their pillows!!! My spell always extends to people who don’t clean up after their dogs. There dog shite is under their pillow when they get home🤣

Yes I agree with you OP. The infuriating thing about it is the sheer ridiculousness when it's so easy to keep the rubbish in the car and dispose of it properly later.

I was quite disgusted yesterday when I went for a walk on the local beach. Actually even before I got on to the beach I walked across the footbridge over a small burn that runs down to the water and someone had dumped a cooker in the burn. I reported it as flytipping online then and there . But then got on to the beach - an isolated one- and it was littered with the remains of picnics and barbecues. Some one had even left their half deflated Happy Birthday balloon at the site of their barbecue on the edge of the dunes.

I really despair about people.

I think we should take the Macd stuff and tip it on their car park so they have the cost of dealing with it.

or that the council could demand funds from Macd, coca cola, towards their clean up costs

and that landlords were obliged to keep the gardens of their properties attractive -it’s why many towns like rundown.

Litter really annoys me. It is just so thoughtless and not the most difficult thing to avoid doing .

My pet peeves with it are:

  • bins overflowing in mcds car park so people just leave it piled up.
I live in the countryside and often find people just dump their bags of mcds rubbish out the window. Why?!?! Just take it home! Find a bin! People throwing any old crap out their window. My hedge is full of crisp packets and energy drinks tins. I'm wondering if it's the same person.
  • took my pup a walk the other night and vowed next time to bring a bin bag.
  • dog poo. You shouldn't be allowed a dog unless you pick it up.
  • recently I saw a woman lift her toddler as the toddler pooed on the beach. She half heartedly tossed some sand on top of it. So disgusting.
