Not scared of the dark. Cats patrolling to prevent spiders. Just me?

Its supposed to rain from 5am onwards!

HansHolbein · 01/07/2025 22:42

No! It will get darked on!

RosesAndHellebores · 01/07/2025 22:46

Lucky you @TakeMeToKernow - it's still 24° outside here. Rain forecast at 5am. I probably won't be up to bring it in at 5am, so no point putting it out now. Am enjoying the night air coming in through the French windows though.

TourangaLeila · 01/07/2025 22:47

Spiders will wipe their willies on your washing. Is that what you want?

Wishitsnows · 01/07/2025 22:52

Yes can’t see why not. Rain isn’t forecast everywhere so just check where you are

ninjahamster · 01/07/2025 22:53

I often hang it over night.

TakeMeToKernow · 01/07/2025 22:54

Spider willies are guarded against by cat patrol. I must accept that this will get darked on.

Here’s the funny thing. This is a “no softner” wash. It’s all just sports stuff. And for some reason, my brain finds it acceptable that this might get wet during the drying process.

I peg washing out at night all the time, much to the disgust of most of Mumsnet. Got it all in tonight though (dry in about an hour!) because we're predicted a ten degree temperature drop and rain most of tomorrow. Also did the deadheading , there's probably no science to it but I'm sure the plants benefit from the drink more if they're not carrying excess baggage 😂

longtompot · 01/07/2025 23:32

As we have been doing some digging work in the garden and it's extra dusty out there, I have been hanging my washing out at night for it to be dry by early morning. I don't care if it gets darked on, and whatever spiders do is their business ;)

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 01/07/2025 23:46

I have just pegged put a load.
Spiders, keep your willies to yourselves!

There is a clear sky and a crescent moon, so I don't think it will get fully darked on?

PickAChew · 01/07/2025 23:54

Might as well.

I'm up north so foolishly used the cooler weather to catch up with ironing and housework. I didn't factor in that the bones of the house hadn't cooled down and all the rain has done is make everything sticky so I was feeling rotten by mid afternoon 🤢

Spookywoods · 01/07/2025 23:58

I always put washing out on line at night if there is a guarantee it will be dry and sunny in the morning. Spiders can do what they like in the meantime.
