Past life regression

Do you know anyone that got a past life regression?

I am thinking about it, as my mum was just talking to me about it.

My mum was a very practical and sensible person, while my dad was into stuff like past live regression.

Mum was telling me yesterday that my dad dragged her to a psychic fair in the 1980s, and there was a past life regressionist there. He did it by hypnosis.

My dad paid to get a hypnosis done, but the man couldn't hypnotise my dad. Not everyone can be hypnotised. The man asked my mum if she wanted to try. She told me that she said yes because she thought it would be a bit of a laugh and she didn't think anything would happen anyway.

Next thing, she was in a deep hypnosis. The man recorded a tape of her talking about her past life. It is really interesting. She still has the tape and I listened to it.

On the tape, She talks about living in England, (my mum was not from England in this life) and she talks about being married to a merchant in the 1800's. She talks on the tape about having four sons, and she starts crying. She says that she is very sad, because one of her sons has been killed after a kick from a horse.

It's very interesting to listen to!

I was wondering has anyone done this, or have you heard of anyone that did it?

I got it done once years ago and nothing really happened. I’d be interested to find out how people managed to go back. I felt very much in like I was in the hypnotist’s office and was kind of daydreaming.

Ironic username but one that already belongs to me... using it as a cloak to give myself permission to say things I usually keep well and truly quiet!

Yes - I have done past life regressions... the two I remember most clearly are:

Watching my mother (not in this life) give birth to my sister at home, and my sister died.

Being a priest on a battlefield / war and pretending to listen to dying soldiers last confession but not granting them absolution..

I feel the presence of spirits / souls - usually in remote places, sometimes I chat to them .... some of whom are afraid to let go into the light because of something they did, sometimes I tell them that there is no judgement, only love but they don't always believe that... some are there because they have promised to watch over the land, sometimes I tell them they don't have to stay if they are tired.

Sometimes the souls who believe they will be judged, lurk around people that might be dying, thinking that they can pass through under the cloak of 'good' people.

I will stop there.. before someone tracks down my IP address and sends the men in white coats.

Why do you think you remembered these particular moments in the your life?

and why didn’t ‘you’ grant the soldiers absolution?

There is a lot behind the first one.. a bit much to explain... but it explains a lot of unexplained emotions in my current life which prior to this 'remembering' did not make sense... I did not set out to explore a past life... it came to me while driving on a motorway.. I howled in anguish.. and by the time I arrived at my destination, everything was fine.

The second one.. It was clear at the time of the 'remembering', something to do with being a pacifist, who objected to the war and objected to being posted to the front... but later had regrets about my behaviour because I did not have the right to judge the soldiers... I understood that they did not freely choose to be their either.

That’s fascinating @KeeponSpeakingtheTruth

hope you don’t mind if I ask another question?

I’ve wondered before if past lives are perhaps memories of other people’s lives that sensitive people tap into. How do you know that this was definitely ‘your’ memory and not one of the spirits you chat to showing you a re- run of their memories?

does it feel very different?

KeeponSpeakingtheTruth · 02/07/2025 19:30

It does feel different... sometimes it feels like I am making it all up in my head... and part of me thinks that is what is actually happening... but another part of me doesn't... sometimes I ask if this is mine or someone else's...

@InvitingMattress do you have children?

I do. But it does not require having had children to recognise that children are suggestible, imaginative and have difficulty distinguishing between reality and fantasy/daydream/dreams. I was a child myself. I blamed the holes cut in my bedroom curtains on my imaginary friend. I was terrified by the witch in my bedroom (my mother’s dressing gown hanging on the back of the door). I had such vivid repeated dreams of driving my dad’s work van at night, at high speed and out of control, terrified because my legs were too short for my feet to reach the brakes, that I believed it had really happened and couldn’t get into the van without screaming.

So no, excuse me for not crediting children’s accounts of ‘past lives’ as having any truth value other than in imagination and things picked up from adults, tv, books etc.

@Marinamay44 In the 90s as a teenager I used to listen to this topical phon in radio show and the presenter was a very bright and very informed guy in his 30s (with a psychology degree). Anyway, he did a few shows about regression and they would play back some of the people who had had it done and so many of them seemed to have had quite interesting lives and were able to provide surprising details which I’m not sure especially in pre internet times was all made up. Anyhow, what really got me was when the radio presenter had it done and I think he ended up being a British soldier but in battle somewhere abroad and he was really shocked when the tapes were played back to him and when they looked into the specific details he supplied they were able to match them up to a real unit and battle etc. I should say this presenter was the most sarcastic and dry person who was fascinated by many different topics and having listened to him for many years I do fully believe he was genuine in his experience. Personally I don’t believe in alien abductions or ghosts but every so often I remember about the regressions the show did and it’s one of the few things I may perhaps look into as how amazing if my body somehow has a whole other consciousness or life trapped in there just waiting to be uncovered!

Pinkissmart · 02/07/2025 23:07

I've had a few experiences.
In one I remembered doing something very awful to someone who I 'recognised' as an ex boyfriend in this life.
I was a smelly, awful person.
So, definitely not royalty or famous.
