What Happened To MSN Messenger And Bebo

I miss MSN Messenger and Bebo. Years ago noone was ever off they sites and now they don't exist anymore. Does anyone know what really happened to them?

I didn't use MSN but did use BeBo. So staying here for the BeBo gossip sure I read years ago that Bebo was sold and becouse Facebook went nuclear Bebo was closed down.

Anyone remember that you could put a song on your Bebo page 🤣

Oh the rush home from school to log on to MSN.

The logging in and out again so you can try and get the attention of your crush.

The songs I would play so that I looked like I was listening to cool music.

Those were the days.

Technically, MSN became Skype, which became Teams. In reality, apps like WhatsApp arrived and changed the way we communicate.

Pretty sure Skype took over MSN messenger and then Skype itself is gone now and replaced by Teams. Chat rooms with the constant a/s/l question popping up and the constant logging in and out. No wonder I had no attention span then
I'm old enough to remember using ICQ which was also killed off by FB messenger and WhatsApp but lasted from the late 90s when I was using it at university until last year or so. I also used to use IRC at university.
