What’s the most ridiculous reason why a stranger has called you entitled?

A friend and I got called entitled by a man walking his dog today. We were walking along a tarmaced path bordered by short grass in the opposite direction to him. Apparently we were entitled because we didn’t make way for his dog on the tarmac and it had to walk on the grass.

Anyone else care to share the really stupid reasons they have been called entitled by strangers?

I think I’ve only ever seen entitled used as an insult on the internet.

But I am a millennial and we are called entitled near daily for having any expectations around our lives eg having a home to live in, being able to afford the odd holiday, maybe have a child or two.

I’ve only ever seen it used on here!

MinnieMountain · 30/06/2025 20:18

Friend and I are mid-40s.

If I’d have wanted an argument I could have pointed out he was an irresponsible dog owner for walking his big, fluffy dog at 10:30am.

Usually directed towards social housing tenants

When I was about 27 me and my partner went into a bank to open a joint bank account. We were served by a middle aged woman. One of the questions we were asked when opening the account was 'do you own your own home or rent'. We'd just bought our first house together so we naturally said, 'we own' and the response from the woman was 'well you don't own it do you, you have a mortgage so the bank part owns it'. I was gobsmacked and probably just nervous giggled.

I know that wasn't answer to your question but it made me think of the time that happened. Horrible woman.

But I've also been called 'greedy' by my sister in law for having 3 children (she could only have one).

Experience has taught me that people that accuse you of being 'entitled' are usually very insecure and jealous people.

Lins77 · 30/06/2025 20:29

Nobody's ever said it to me.

ScratCat · 30/06/2025 20:30

I’ve never been called entitled.

I’m going with sexist in this case.

Oh and another one. My baby was a few weeks old and I met a mum who I knew from school with a baby a similar age. She can't round my house for HOURS then when I said I need to pump now and would she mind leaving at I'm not comfortable to do it in public she said "how about you go in the back room and do it whilst I put the TV on" . I blocked her after she started texting asking for money for cigarettes....

Why would walking a fluffy dog at 10.30am mean he is irresponsible?

MinnieMountain · 18/08/2025 16:25

Because it was a very hot spell when I posted this over a month ago @Mumteedum .

Leaving Legoland at the end of the day, up the hill to the exit. A woman clicked my fast pass and commented that it was cheating.

That makes sense now. Sorry. Didn't see the date. It was in active threads I think.

Possibly due to the heat? 24 where I am in the UK this morning.

If you lived where I am, it was 25 degrees at 1030!

Yes, I've got it now. Your the third person to say. I just didn't twig when the post was written. It's been cool here today and it just sounded so odd when I read it. Sorry everyone.

I got called an entitled white bitch by a man in the street, he was walking along with a woman, he was carrying nothing but she was struggling under armful of dry cleaning, she dropped it and he started yelling and swearing at her. I told him to stop treating her like that and called him a misogynist he was very angry, he picked up the stuff and told her to go, I've been worried ever since about what happened to her when she got home.
