Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this, very recently been told l might have Crohns which is affecting my ability to conceive.

Anyone experienced this, and what happened after being treated for inflammation

Sorry to hear that. I’ve had crohns from the age of 16, I’m now in my 40’s, I didn’t have any issues conceiving although I wasn’t flaring at the time and I was back up to a healthy weight. All the very best.

I have Crohns. 3DC, no issue conceiving however I had a flare up while pregnant and became very poorly with DC3. She was born at 37 weeks and was quite well and just on the small side.

I was told I would be extremely lucky to get to term and even there was a worry she wouldn’t make to 30 weeks and could be too unwell to survive with how poorly I was but we got there! I was just over 7stone in weight 2 days before she was born.

It was suggested after her delivery that I don’t have another pregnancy as the risk wasn’t worth it.

Thankyou, they did say that fertility would improve once inflammation improved with treatment. Just very hard to hear as l wasn't expecting it. Only been trying for baby 3 for 3 months.
