I’m a big podcast fan, just love listening whilst doing housework, in the car, going for walks etc
But have found myself listening to the same old 5-6 and am feeling a bit uninspired! Would love to get some recommendations for something fresh to tune into. If you can be arsed to explain why you like it that would be a bonus🧡🙏

Current regulars are:
> Feel Better, Live More (Dr Chattergee)
> DOAC
> Happy Place with Ferne Cotton
> Sounds True: Insights at the Edge
> Begin Again (Davina McCall)

Sometimes dip into:
> > Desert Island Discs (although have seriously exhausted the back catalogue!)
> The Louise Newson podcast
> The Mel Robbins podcast
> Table Manners
> Triggernometry
> How to Fail
> Louis Theroux Podcast

Not into true crime stuff, have tried multiple times but just find myself switching off🫠

The Wandering Clinician Podcast

If you like politics then The News Agents is definitely one to try. Intelligent commentary and interviews on the day’s topics from Emily Maitliss, Jon Sopel and Lewis Goodall.

I’ve recently started listening to British Scandal and I enjoy it.

Cautionary Tales with Tim Harford. It’s about things going wrong and people making mistakes. Very interesting and a fantastic theme tune.

I’ve been listening to The Rest is History from the beginning. I love it, the range of topics, the guests and the sheer weight of knowledge on display are phenomenal.

@CatRoleplayTycoon I felt like he was being a bit of a bully when she spoke about how great Citizen Kane is and he kept insisting it wasn’t as good as Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr. Like he was calling her a snob to his “man of the people “

That was really funny! It was only intended as a joke.

Ladaha · 29/06/2025 07:14

The Rest is History - I just love those two telling me stories. It's the only podcast I've ever paid for and it's worth it.

Sajacas · 29/06/2025 07:26

STEMtalk, really good science podcast.

Bjorkdidit · 29/06/2025 07:30

The Unbelievable Truth
I also listened to I've never seen Star Wars on a cheap trial with Audible.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/06/2025 08:49

@healthybychristmas I think his jokes don’t always land

Off Menu - hosted by Ed Gamble and James Acaster. They host a ‘dream restaurant’ and invite a celebrity guest in each week to talk about their favourites foods. Sounds dull but it’s often very funny.

Kermode and Mayo’s Film Review - even if you’re not a film buff this is very engaging, the relationship and banter between the two of them

The Kitchen Cabinet - hosted by Jay Rayner. Format is a bit like Gardeners’ Question Time, but it’s about food. Each episode takes place in a different town/city around the country so there’s always a bit of a local slant to the things they discuss.

Moodershewrote · 29/06/2025 09:07

Oh I’m liking the sound of the foodie ones!

Oh, forgot about that one. I went to a recording of the Kitchen Cabinet in my local city and it was a fun (and free!) evening out.

Dam parenting- I think it’s supposed to be for people who’ve moved to the Netherlands all about babys/ toddlers/ kids, but actually they’re so chilled and you pick up nice parenting/ psychology/ calming tips!!
