I'm looking for new hobbies.

What do you like to do? Whether it's crochet or going out on this piss, I want to hear about it :)

Picking up horse shit 😆 turns out owning them and riding them are too very different hobbies and I haven't had the time to ride for 6 years because I'm so busy clearing up after them (also my job) and any spare time my daughter rides (which I love!). I've recently just got back into reading and starting to do some gardening - the poor plants haven't wilted and died yet but give it time. The horse shit does come in quite useful there too I guess.

smallglassbottle · 26/06/2025 20:18

Gardening, crochet, cross stitch and looking after the pets.

NotMeNoNo · 26/06/2025 20:20

Droplet789 · 26/06/2025 20:21

Yoga, gardening, paddle boarding, walking. Facebook has loads of groups for inspiration if you need ideas

Me and DH do pool and darts as our joint hobbies and for my solo hobby I make tiny clay mushrooms and put them around our house.

Crochet and collecting yarn ( 2 distinct hobbies 😂) I also play various instruments.

I agree with the first two, I also do the same😂

Crochet is cheap to get into, more expensive if you start collecting yarn 🙈

Get an ergonomic hook though, makes it much more comfortable. Planet June is an excellent website for learning techniques - it has both left and right handed tutorials.

It’s one you can pick up and put down and do whilst you watch tv/listen to music.

Also the Lego Botanicals collection and Harry Potter Lego.

Lots of inspiration here! I love running, reading, yoga, cooking and baking.

My dog is my hobby. Walking her, training, dog sports and reading everything I find about canine behaviour. I’d love to do a degree in canine behaviour, but can’t justify the cost.

jdjfjfj · 26/06/2025 22:13

Cross stitch
Reading

I occasionally do a diamond painting or painting by numbers but cross stitch is my passion.

JustAnInchident · 26/06/2025 22:14

I ride, and keep my horses ta home. I used to do loads; surfing, shooting, swimming, gym, I had an off road motorbike… but now I have kids instead 🤣

RobinEllacotStrike · 26/06/2025 22:15

are there any hobbies/activities that involve smashing stuff?
So many creative options, but sometimes I feel like I'd love to really let go and physically destroy things. This part of me would also love to do crazy rally driving.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 26/06/2025 22:19

Knitting, crochet, spinning (on a spinning wheel), yoga, pilates. Also singing - I'm about to rejoin a choir.

There are places you can go to smash stuff up.
I'm not sure what they are called.
Anger Rooms maybe?
Edit : they're called Rage Rooms 🔨

Things I’ve done and may yet return to are - crochet, knitting, hand sewing, reading, gardening, stamp collecting and bell ringing.
Current hobbies include - playing several instruments, running, walking, rowing, spin class, elliptical workouts, yoga, badminton, swimming, archery, morris dancing and Zumba.
Next month I’m going to try blacksmithing and resin pouring.
I would like to give bowls and clay pigeon shooting a try.

Nannyfannybanny · 27/06/2025 09:00

Oh wow,I'm impressed. I also have 2 dogs border collies taking them out soon. I didn't count them as a hobby. I used to cycle every week, but I'm in my 70s now and live on a hill. It's not true you don't forget how to ride a bike..

Scrolling on my phone way longer than I should! I really want to take up singing and drama again, but with no partner, 3 pre teens, a busy ft job and a tricky elderly parent Im brain dead once they’re all done. Xx youve inspired me tho - time to make a change.
