Can you help me find a holiday?

It's actually for my DS and girlfriend.

Early 20's but not interested in clubbing, Going for 5 nights from 15/16 August.
Nice hotel, does not need to be AI but would like breakfast.

They want it to be hot, fun, but looking for nice restaurants and cocktails vibe.

Thinking of Greek Islands maybe? Or Portugal?

Budget £700- £1000 per person

They did mention Tenerife but I haven't been for 30 years and it was all groups of youngsters getting drunk 😂

I don't know where to start, help please.

What about Gran Canaria? Puerto Mogan or Maspalomas?

I know I’m being nosy

but why are you looking for their holiday?

Surely holiday hunting as a couple is part of the fun?

Are they wanting a package deal with flights, hotel, transfers etc, or are they happy to book separately? Thoughts on an air BnB or self-catering or must it be a hotel/resort?

Yes i know! They are looking but they have both had a very stressful year, lots of things have happened and i just said i would help them. They are both incredibly busy so I said i would have help.

I haven't been away for so long, I haven't a clue where to start.

Don't need the set holiday, I just put the details up for ease. Just some suggestions please of nice resorts.

@NoctuaAthene i think they would prefer a hotel, it's only a short break and would like some pampering.

Are they wanting beach or City break? I would recommend Porto or Barcelona for a City break as both have some nice hotels with pools/ rooftop pools. Barcelona has a lovely beach and Porto has a nice one too but its not central.

For a nice chill beach holiday I would recommend Eden Roc resort in Rhodes (its AI but can use the la carte's as often as you want.

Other places that I think have good vibes are Cala D'dor, Antalya & Kos

I loved chania in Crete. Also Sarandë in Albania is absolutely stunning

Yorkshiremum80 · 26/06/2025 15:13

Barcelona is great for a bit of both, it has a great beach, beautiful hotels with pools, nice restaurants and bars and the city element too for shopping etc. Super easy to get to from the airport too

TimeForABreak4 · 26/06/2025 15:14

Which airport can they fly from?
