How to find teams invitation meeting time?

ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 18:41

Sorry such a stupid question. I use Microsoft Teams all the time at work but with outlook but I’m bit confused via teams invite sent to my personal gmail.

I recently had an email from a recruiter saying ‘Please see attached invitation’ for interview

there is no attachment, however it’s got the usual Teams footer:

”Microsoft Teams Need help?
Join the meeting now (link)
Meeting ID: (Id digits)
Passcode: (passcode)
For organisers: Meeting options (link)

^ there is no reference of the date or time it has been scheduled for? Am I blind? When I use teams via outlook at work it appears at top of the email and there is calendar invite.

I can’t seem to figure out the date and time of the interview and worried I will look extremely stupid and PC incompetent if I ask to confirm time/date.

when I click on the join the meeting now link it just takes me to an option to start the meeting, doesn’t mention date/time it was scheduled for. I don’t want interviewer I started meeting at wrong time (they will likely get notification)

If you look through your outlook calendar, does it show as a 'tentative' meeting somewhere?

EBearhug · 24/06/2025 18:42

Can't you just mail them back to ask them to clarify the time?

TeenToTwenties · 24/06/2025 18:44

This happens to me regularly (but not frequently). I email back asking for confirmation of date and time.

TinyTempest · 24/06/2025 18:44

Have a look at your Outlook calendar.

If you can't access it at the moment, ask for clarification.

Well yes, but I was reluctant to do that straight away due to giving off a bad impression that I’m unable to use basic IT.

I wanted to double check there wasn’t another option before hand

The times never come up on my phone but show on my laptop. You could try that?

ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 18:48

Thanks for suggestions. I have logged on desktop gmail via my laptop and still can’t see it

Nothing in my calendar either (using gmail though not outlook)

If you accept the meeting, it will then show up in either your outlook or google calendar with the time.

Apologies I’m being really thick but I’m not sure how to accept it either as doesn’t have the usual option like outlook does (I’m using gmail although think invitations to meeting in past sent to my gmail still have had option to accept / add to calendar)

Will take pic of my laptop screen…

All I can see on my laptop…

No option at top of email either to accept or to download to calendar

You need to log into teams and it will be in your calendar

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 24/06/2025 19:00

if You log into teams check your notifications and it should say date and time there?

ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 19:03

Unfortunately my personal email is gmail, so I don’t think I can sign in to teams via gmail:(

Any other time I’ve had a job interview I will join the meeting as a ‘guest’ and it still comes up in invitation form (so can see the date / time). Plus most recruiters clearly state the date/time within email wording too so it’s as clear as possible

My work email is the one that’s outlook and connected to teams etc.

You should be able to log in using a browser

ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 19:12

I can log in to teams with my gmail now thanks (just asked for verification code then signed me in) but checked the teams calendar and it’s still empty ffs

I tried typing in the meeting ID but all it does is take me to option to join right now and still doesn’t show date/time

OP posts:
Eastendboysandwestendgirls · 24/06/2025 19:15

Try clicking on Join now and it might say the intended date/time .

ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 19:16

Out of desperation I thought I’d click on start meeting anyway then leave straight away with hopes that it somehow may add it to my calendar…

instead I get pop up saying ‘Join without using an account. The account you’re using doesn’t have access to this meeting due to org policies’
^ the email I used was the only email the recruiter has for me / same one I used to make application

OP posts:
ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 19:20

Tried joining again as a guest and it let me in but still not able to see date/time of meeting just said ‘Hey you’re early. The organiser will let you in when the meeting starts’

Looks like I have no choice to email them? I hope they don’t think I’m really stupid/ it caused bad impression. I’ve never encountered this before despite using teams daily at work. Usually all recruiters make date/time very clear within email not just sending a blunt message

OP posts:
ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 19:26

I’ve emailed politely asking if they can please confirm scheduled date/time.
I’m panicked I won’t have enough time to prepare for the interview because it took the recruiter over a day just to reply to my last email confirming my availability. What if she only replies one hour before the interview or something

I can see that you have already emailed. I’d also suggest checking your deleted emails. Sometimes once I have accepted a meeting the original email automatically deletes.

Good luck for your interview.

I know what you mean, I have experienced this in outlook before. Unfortunately nothing in deleted emails (using gmail)
thank you though!

Could you forward the invitation to your outlook so it shows in your calendar?

FrangipaniBlue · 24/06/2025 20:44

Is there an attachment to the email with a name that includes .ics ? If so, double click that and it will open as a calendar spot which you can then add to your diary.

ASDnocareer · 24/06/2025 23:50

Unfortunately not

There’s been some issues since the latest update to Windows 11 with Team times not showing in calendars (to do with the version of outlook used, ‘new’ or ‘classic’)

You’ll need to call the recruiter. Given the issues above, they probably won’t be surprised.

Good luck with the interview!
