DS17 has kerrataconus. He had a cross linking procedure done back in November and has been fitted for contacts due to pick them up tomorrow and train to use them. At the moment they will be free as he’s still at college. He’s due to have the procedure on the second eye at a later date once this eye is sorted. I’m worried about him misplacing them, which isn’t a foreign mishap for DS, he has asd also so once he gets into a routine I’m sure he’ll be fine. He turns 18 in Jan and due to finish college next summer. He’s on pip which I know doesn’t guarantee medical exemption, I’ve tried looking it up but it’s all a big vague. I just want to know if anyone else has been in a similar situation and can shed some light on nhs vouchers for lenses, or medical exemption in terms of kerrataconus.
