You could go on a walk down by the river lea? Or to Lee Valley park? I think there's a few nice parks in Enfield as well. Forty Hall is nice.

That area is quite residential so there aren't many attractions and stuff. But there are so many busses and tubes/trains you should be able to get to the centre really easily.

There's a playground and crazy golf in Broomfield Park, and a model boating pond, and ducks etc. There's Go Ape and ice-skating at Ally Pally, along with a skate board park, and a lake where you can hire peddaloes.
You could go to Crews Hill, ( overrground train) where there is a snake pet shop, and a big pet shop, Jolley's, that has puppies and loads of different tropical fish, and a few garden centres with cafes or pubs where you can get lunch. On the way ( by car) there is Botany Bay farm shop where I think you can pick fruit and veg and see a few animals.
In Wood Green there are cinemas and loads of places to eat out, and if he is into football, it's not far from Tottenham's state of the art stadium.

There is something very rare in that part of north London called a football trophy, which may be able to be viewed.

The William Morris gallery and the park around it in Walthamstow are worth a visit.
