Halloween stuff for sale in June!

I couldn't believe my eyes yesterday during a visit to TKMaxx. They had a Halloween display complete with 4 sections of various ornaments, throws, cushions etc.
Blazing heat outside and already we are being persuaded to think about late autumn. No wonder life seems to slip by at such a fast pace.

Well sometimes you get reports of Christmas stuff for sale in august which is kind of the same thing. Both way, way too early. Then people buy it because by actual Halloween there’s nothing left in the shops. But four months is bonkers really. Maybe they have no more stock of other things to fill the shelves?

SparkyBlue · 22/06/2025 09:33

They probably found it in the stock room
and decided to stick it out and see. I bought some Christmassy stuff yesterday in a sale that were a stock room find and I was delighted as I loved them at Christmas but couldn’t afford or justify them but brilliant 70% off

Bjorkdidit · 22/06/2025 09:54

I thought it was bad enough that Aldi have Back to School as the theme in this week's special buys leaflet, before the majority of the country has even broken up for the summer.

But it won't be long before the towers of crappy Christmas chocolates appear at the entrance to the supermarkets.

Apparently "Halloween At Fright Free Prices" according to signs over the stock.

Just ignore it and don’t buy seasonal tat

mondaytosunday · 22/06/2025 10:07

I don’t mind that but hate it when they put ‘back to school’ signs everywhere before the kids have even broken up…if you did buy anything they are bound to have a growth spurt late August!

mrswhiplington · 22/06/2025 10:08

Don’t worry. The mince pies will be appearing in Tesco next month. 😁

AllPlayedOut · 22/06/2025 10:10

I saw the thread title and immediately thought that this was probably TK Maxx as I also saw their Halloween items out on display last week.

OKLah · 22/06/2025 10:34

I have also seen the TKmaxx Halloween extravaganza in 2 store now so they must be getting stock in not just a random store having left overs.

Why, just why?????

I saw an IG reel yesterday with a shop (somewhere in America) selling “summerween” themed items. All skeletons and ghosts on their summer holidays.

And then I hastily scrolled on lest the algorithms feed me more of that nonsense.

Iloveeverycat · 22/06/2025 11:51

Thanks that's great I will have to have a look. As Tim Burton said For some of us, Halloween is everyday.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 22/06/2025 11:52

I have to admit, I read your title and thought 'Ooh, where?!' excitedly.

DH is wearing a Halfway to Halloween tshirt.

I'm sorry, we're definitely contributing to the problem.

Lorrymum · 22/06/2025 12:22

Don't get me wrong I love Halloween! June is just too early, spoils the anticipation for me.

It's Juneoween - made its way over from the USA.

Gymnopedie · 22/06/2025 12:58

An ad from Cancer Research came up on my feed on Friday, urging me to buy my Christmas cards.

I nearly started a thread myself but decided to have a nice lie down and a cup of chamomile tea to get over it.

Crinkle77 · 22/06/2025 13:04

I can't stand the whole spooky season. Nooooooo!!!!!! There's no such thing. Halloween is one day! I dont want to be reminded that we've had the summer solstice and the nights will start to pull in 😪

DH bought some Hot Cross buns a couple of weeks ago. I think he wins.😂

My ASD son has a totally out of control phobia of Halloween. We didn't leave the house from the start of September until January last year because of it.

If they start doing it in June, I'm screwed.
