Recommendations for somewhere to eat near Euston station?

Me and my team are travelling down to London from the NW on Wednesday ahead of a training day on Thursday and as the only person who (semi) regularly visits London it’s fallen to me to find us somewhere to eat when we arrive!

Previously our training days have been in much less glamorous places (no offence Wolverhampton) so we just pile into the first pub we see but as it’s London and most of the team have only been once or twice before I thought it would be nice to put a bit more thought into it.

We are staying in Whitechapel so could eat somewhere near there once we have all arrived but as we are arriving on different trains and none of them are familiar with the tube it was decided it was probably best to eat somewhere near Euston and then head over to our hotel all together.

So has anyone got any nice recommendations for a meal near Euston (say within a 10 minute walk)? Budget is up to £20 for a main course, it doesn’t need to be anywhere fancy just nice and not a chain we could otherwise visit in the north!

Coal drops yard behind Kings Cross is all developed now and there are a few restaurant chains there. Also if you cross over Euston Road and walk up a bit there’s some nice places around Woburn Place. A bit further to Marchmont St , Judd St and near Russell Square tube is the Brunswick Centre.

This place is fab;

its about a 15 minute walk from Euston in Bloomsbury, you would need to book in advance as it’s very popular x

Pilgrims pizza?

SharonEllis · 22/06/2025 08:33

The Wellcome has a good cafe but you wouldnt be able to book - how many of you are there? Its pretty much opposite. There is a chain pizza place (directly opposite) and a pizza express opposite British Library. I know you dont want a chain they are there and bookable.

Trot up to Kings Cross and you'll be spoilt for choice! My go to is always Dishoom but there's so much there!

If it's sunny you can sit on the outdoor cinema thing.

Albertini on Charlton Street. Or try Drummond Street behind Euston station. Lots of Indian restaurants.

Drummond Street curry houses. Follow the signs out the back of Euston.

Another vote for Coal Drops Yard, though it's more like a 15-20 minute walk from Euston. I've had a nice work meal at The Lighterman, and I ate at El Pastor once and enjoyed it; but there are loads of restaurants there, so you'll have plenty of choice.

If there are only a few of you, personally I'd brave the queue and try to go to Roti King, but that's very much no-frills!

I'd recommend Albertini @femininomenon ... A few steps from Euston and a proper family run neighbourhood Italian restaurant, with something for everyone. Definitely book though, as it does get busy.

Albertini Restaurant

Great minds @alongtimeagoandfaraway

Before or after your meal get yourselves up to the roof bar at The Standard hotel on corner of Judd St/ Euston Rd ( o think). No it’s Argyle St.

Brilliant I will have a look through all of these thanks all! Isn’t it so much easier to ask for recommendations in London rather than try to find these places yourself!

We loved Roti King, which looks like (and is) a basement hovel, but the food was amazing last time we went there. It might not be good for a group of 7 though as it is quite small and there is usually a queue.

I would walk towards Kings Cross and you have German Gymnasium, Hoppers, Coal Office Restaurant, Granary Square Brasserie, Caravan Kings Cross or Dishoom. Best to book!
