DS2 First Lad’s Holiday….has he remembered everything?

He’s going to Portugal with 4 mates.
He's got T-shirts, shorts, trunks.
SPF, deodorant, shower gel,
Printing out boarding passes later.
Is there anything glaringly obvious they he’s forgotten?
Lots going on at home right now so I haven’t been on the ball 100%.

Honestly if he’s old enough to go on holiday, he should be old enough to pack and organise himself. These are good ops to build independence.

Exactly. This is why we've got so many piss poor man babies. They're taught to be useless.

He’s 18, he needs to pack his own bag.
If he goes without his passport or any shoes he needs to learn from that mistake not have his mummy pack it for him

JifNtGif · 21/06/2025 13:56

Condoms. Put them in his back yourself if he hasn't got them.

grab an STI kit for when he gets back.

TheGlamour · 21/06/2025 14:01

REMIND HIM to stay away from water - sea, rivers, swimming pools, bridges, diving boards if he has been drinking. The number of young men who come to harm in such circumstances is horrifying.

My colleague took a days leave last week to iron and pack for her 23 year old son … he sat playing computer games whilst instructing her on what clothes he wanted.

The response in the office was very much 😮😮

Why do some parents set their young adult children up to fail in life? It's mind boggling.
