Has anyone seen the new How to Train Your Dragon?

DM wants to take DS to see the new live action version of HTTYD. He's 5, and he loves the animated version but I'm a bit worried the live action dragons could be a bit scary for him, especially the big dragon at the end.

Has anyone seen it and could advise please?

Has he watched the cartoon? I have watched twice. Second time today and there looked like 5 yrs sitting near us. He wasn’t scared but did seem bored before film started. It’s a long film.

Sorry didn’t read properly. If he loves animated series. He will love it.

If he's not scared by the animated version, I don't think this one would scare him either. It is long and dark though- lots of kids getting up to go to the toilet when I watched it.

Yeah personally I think he'll be bored, he has been to the cinema before but to see things like Minions and Moana. I might suggest waiting until it comes to streaming.

It was good but no better than the animated version - and wasn’t scary. Lots of young kids going back and forth to the toilet when I saw it too. My child enjoyed it.

It’s not scary. We took a group of 6 and 7 year olds last weekend and they were all fine, but honestly was a bit too long for them. So for a 5 year old I’d wait and rent it at home when it comes out.
