To cancel baby shower

It’s my baby shower tomorrow and so many people have dropped out the last couple of days I just feel like cancelling it.

I originally had 27 people on the invite list, a couple said straight off the bat that they couldn’t make it, others were unsure. Today we’re down to 11 people including me. It’s basically some family members and 4 friends

what’s even the point? I’ve planned so much, decor, food, games etc and I’m just feeling deflated that no one is coming

should I cancel/rearrange or just try to make it work with the few people coming? I’m just worried the atmosphere will be quiet and awkward

No OP! 11 is great. 27 would be so overwhelming. You’ll have a lovely time.

Is the 11 all ladies? You can always get some of the guys to join after the first couple of hours. I’ve seen that happen before!

You’re right that 27 would probably have been overwhelming, I think it just feels rubbish because I’ve lost 6 or 7 people in the last couple of days. So the event I was planning for is suddenly now a lot smaller

none of DH’s side is coming now either, it’s all my family and a few friends

just feel like I’ve put a lot of effort into planning this and I definitely wouldn’t have done all that if I knew it was just for a handful of people

Yeah I know it feels really shitty when people drop out like that. It’s disappointing and not very fair of them. I honestly would try and be on the positive side though and I think 11 is still a great number!

11 is a great number for a baby shower, you don’t need to ‘try and make it work’, it will be fine!
