Recommend a small, quiet fan for child in a box room ... maybe with timer/remote control?

The best and quietest option is a ceiling fan light. We have them in every bedroom. It is this one and it comes with several blade colour options. Just check the measurements as it will be in a small room so make sure it doesn't touch any tall furniture. The only thing is it doesn't have a timer on this one. We leave it on all night. The two pull cords are for the light and the fan but the light is controlled by a normal light switch. The pull cord means you can turn the light off but the fan stays on. It does need to be wired in. Dh says it is an easy enough job.

Thanks @HooverThatLounge
It may be more than I planned to spend as I guess it needs an electrician to fit.

It comes down to when you remove the current ceiling rose how many wires you have coming in and going out of the fitting. That can complicate things. Do you know anyone who is a bit handy? There are videos on youtube showing you how to do it, wiring diagrams so you understand how it all works. I do understand if you are not confident in this area.

Ask friends, family, anyone if they can recommend someone who could do it. I have an electrician for Part P stuff but simple things we just do ourselves. It might be something you do later on rather than now but it has been life changing in our south facing bedroom. Far better than a pedestal fan.

We've got a Meaco after they were recommended on here and it's brilliant. Really quiet ✅️ Remote ✅️ timer ✅️ small depends on your definition really. It rotates but also does up and down so moves air all around. They are pricey but so worth it imo.

You can have it table fan or full size.

Hi @whoami24601
I don't suppose you know what model you got?
Thanks

Have the Meaco as well- works brilliantly in daughters small room, hardly any noise. I love mine, best fan I have had

I have a JML chillmax fan. It’s small and pretty quiet. It also has a filter thing that you soak in water and freeze then put it in and acts like a mini aircon unit think it’s about £40 from Asda/dunelm
.
it’s a life saver. My house is hot my bedroom is currently 25 degrees the wee fan is the only thing that helps me sleep
