I need a space to work from for an afternoon before catching a train. Does anyone have any suggestions or can recommend a place they've used? Happy to pay for something if necessary.

I’ve used the British Library in this position before - usually plenty of space and nice and quiet.

I second the British Library. Added bonus is that you can go into their Highlights of the British Library exhibition which is fantastic. Plus you get to feel like a real life historian 😬

@Thistoo2023 - do you have any experience of the Samsung hot desks? I saw that but it says first come first served and wasn't sure how busy it gets

There was quite a bit of space when I went. But I only went once and I think it had only recently opened so might not have been on people’s radars so much.

A third vote for the British Library. It’s my go-to place for working when I want some peace and quiet if my flatmates are home and noisy.

Ah see, I work much better in noisy places, I worry the British Library will be too quiet!

I think i'll try the Samsung place with the British Library as a backup
