Cleaner broke something

Came home yesterday to a smashed Cafetière and a ‘sorry’ note from our cleaner.
It cost more than £20 and I feel quite annoyed that she didn’t offer to replace it or compensate us - in which case I would have said ‘no worries, accidents happen’.

Should I just let it go?

@LassieLady the OP agreed that she should let it go more than 10 hours ago

Ok. So you want her to offer to replace just so you can say no don't. So that....?
a)you have validate yourself as a wonderful generous forgiving person
b) You can show her you are an amazing person and she can be forever grateful
c) All of the above

Hint: the answer is c

Perhaps she knows she can't really afford to replace it ( truthfully how much do you pay her) so because she is a sincere person she didn't want to offer to replace it knowing she couldn't. See 🤗 there are sincere people in this world.

We had a cleaner pull the shower off the wall. They didn't say a thing and just pretended anything had ever happened. If you like her, then let it go, if you don't then make her replace it. It might be worth just having a brief chat about it seeing as you said she has broken other things in the past.

She’s a cleaner so £20 is a lot of money for her

Have you protected your cleaner with insurance incase something in your home causes her personal injury ? For example if she falls down your stairs and breaks her hip would you be able to pay her private medical fees or would you be wanting a new Dyson first!
It’s a coffee pot be kind !

I think cafetières are tricky, mines last for ages then seem to break themselves randomly at inconvenient moments. Switched to a double walled steel one, game changer.

My house insurance includes public liability for domestic / housekeeping working within the property. I never had to use it but was reading the small print.
