Dd said to me everything has been cleaned up. Its not perfect but its ok. Said my bed had been made i can just get into bed when I get home. Her tone was like she was proud so I thought oh that's kind.

I came back to 2 over flowing bins in the kitchen. Stinking of cigarettes. The kitchen stink of God knows what. The dish washer was full but no one bothered to actually turn it on the kitchen sink was full.

The cat litter was in a state.

Kids bedroom has been trashed trashed wee bedsheets everywhere not even brought down for washing.

There was chewed up nappys all over my bedroom floor. Because the stair gate wasn't put on properly.

Dd idea of making my bed was to put the white duvet bit on my bed no duvet cover. No pillow cases.

Woke up this morning to the garden flooded whilst I was away they decided to put the pool up. But it looks like they couldn't find the outlet cover thing instead of asking me what they could do they used loads of gorilla tape which has come away.

On a plus note the missing snake was found. All pets are alive. Another plus ds took one of the snakes to his girl friends house.

Also the house didn't burn down.

She should have put the dirty nappies straight in the outside bin especially in this hot weather.

MushMonster · 17/06/2025 19:31

I think this post has just cured of any sort of complaint I could possibly ever have about my lot.
At least, all alive, no fire.
Best luck sorting all that.

Can you imagine the smell?

Can you imagine the smell?

I’m trying very very hard not to imagine thank you very much 😆.

Stripeyanddotty · 17/06/2025 19:46

Your daughter sounds as if she cannot cope. Are her children neglected in their own home? If she leaves dirty nappies in bedroom and leaves wee soaked sheets on beds that’s not good.

Hope the flight back was ok and it's awful you had to come home to that, especially after you cleaning up for them to stay there. Are you glad to be home or are you all missing it.

Im glad to be home. But its just getting back into things . I wish I had done is so we came back on a Friday or Saturday.

I was actually looking earlier for the June half term next year 😅

Your life sounds so chaotic and exhausting.

Who pissed in the kids beds?

God, doesn't it!? Horrible to think people live like this.

Youagain2025 · 17/06/2025 19:49

WhereHasMyPlanetGone · 17/06/2025 19:18

What is your DD’s house like if she’s left yours in that state?

Her house is reasonable

OP posts:
Stripeyanddotty · 17/06/2025 19:50

So what made her think it was acceptable to leave your house like that?

Edited

It was a child that weed in the bed. Its not uncommon.

Not putting the bedding straight into the wash is uncommon though. It’s been so hot, it must have really smelt?

MinistryofThyme · 17/06/2025 19:53

It’s uncommon not to deal with the mess immediately though.

Stripeyanddotty · 17/06/2025 19:54

How long were you gone for?

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 17/06/2025 19:59

@Youagain2025 but why did your daughter and her kids have to move into your house??

I just write a long reply then deleted it. Because I realised you said dd left wee soaked sheets on the bed. I never said that. Im not sure why you have said I did . Saying that makes it sound much worse than it was

'wee bedsheets everywhere not even taken down for washing'.

I'm guessing it was that sentence there...

That doesn't say wee sheets left on beds does it

OP posts:
Stripeyanddotty · 17/06/2025 20:09

No it doesn’t.
But it’s not much better that she left them in the room. It must stink.

Ok I don't normally do this. But thank you for everyone's replies who saw i was pissed off to what I came home to.

Im not going to start explaining myself to people that add things and trust stuff I have not said.

Im going to hide the thread now.

So why are you moaning about it?

You literally said wee sheets everywhere. So they were ripped off the bed and thrown on the floor?
Still disgusting and disrespectful isnt it.

ObtuseMoose · 17/06/2025 20:17

You honestly should care that a 7 year old is trashing bedrooms and your daughter is allowing it. What a horrible cycle to be trapped in.

Stripeyanddotty · 17/06/2025 20:27

You also said the kitchen is stinking of cigarettes.
