My thoughts are like I'm speaking to a YouTube audience

I keep catch myself thinking like I'm on a YouTube video like, "And you lather it like this" while washing my hair, or "It's a complex situation" about the Middle East, even though I have strong opinions which I'll not share here because that's not what this post is about but all to say I don't actually think that. Like I'm always imagining an audience watching my thoughts and filtering my thoughts and presenting my thoughts for an audience. Does anyone else do this? I'm not mentally ill or anything this isn't me hearing voices

Hahaha I’m the same OP - in my minds narration I’m either vlogging my day or doing a podcast! I’m not sure why but you’re not alone 😂

Yes! I’m often on cooking shows, especially if I have sorted all the ingredients into little bowls first 🤣

I’m more concerned that you seem to be censoring your actual political views for your imaginary YouTube audience? I mean, is this because your imaginary viewers couldn’t point to Israel on a map, or that you think you need to be deliberately bland and evasive? Even though it’s all in your own head?

Frequently I turn into Nigella Lawson as I make her recipes quite a bit. This results in my waftin about the kitchen by myself where no one else can see me, being seductive while sifting self raising flour. Then licking my lips inappropriately while tasting the final dish

Yes, I pretend I’m being interviewed most days. I’ve been interviewed by Terry Wogan, Michael Parkinson, loads.

When I’m tidying up, I narrate what I’m doing in my head, but always like I’m doing something much more interesting than I actually am. Putting clothes in a drawer I’ll talk about the angles and how much I can fit in there, but it’s taken years of practice…as Sarah Beeny questions me and nods along approvingly.

Lately ive been doing a lot of gardening and as I talk, expertly, on the plants, Stacey Dooley (not sure why) probes me on more personal aspects of my life, and I give my answers interspersed with plant / gardening analogies.

Thank God I'm not alone!

The self censoring thing is weird to me too lol
