Teenager Struggleds nearly 20!!!!!

Parenting is still going on for a 19yr old really really struggling to get to find a job, come out of his room, have a bath ! Brush his teeth !! Had police round last week for a social media incident 😳 whoch was full on CID 🤯😳 doing a reward system that’s seems to be stating to work but he’s 19 (20 Mar 26) not 10 !!so emotionally had enough abs so unhappy right now…. Don’t think he loves me 😢🥺

Whether he loves you or not is not high on the agenda at the moment.

I think it's time for a bit of tough love. Given the police incident, I'd be having a very blunt conversation.

I'd look for a volunteering project that you think he might enjoy once he gets there, take a week off, and insist you go and do it together. That he gets up every day at a decent hour, is showered and clean and ready to leave the house by 9. Nag for hours if necessary (it will be). Stand your ground and make as much noise as possible, do not let him off the hook.

Make it clear that while you understand it's difficult, you will not be providing him with free bed and board for ever, and that it's time he got off his backside.

What did he used to like before he got stuck in this rut - fishing, football, other sport, green spaces, art, maths. You can get short courses in almost anything. Hit the internet.
