Saw some very upsetting threads on here that brought back some bad memories.

Want to try and have a more positive turn.
What's everyone's fav song? Something that really makes you smile.

Don't Stop Me Now by Queen

I absolutely love that, but have often thought that it was a sort of foretelling of Freddie Mercury’s future.

One I really love just because it’s so beautiful, is a recording of a niece’s soprano solo of Panis Angelicus.

This is the typical Indian song for a UK school disco

Yes it is Shakira, don't know why I said JLo but she has performed it multiple times with and without Shakira.

New Radicals - You only get what you give.

Adore this song.

Most of Stevie Wonders, but definitely Superstition.

Oddly, the whole Hamilton soundtrack.... banger after banger!

And currently Benson Boone, beautiful things... my little girl loves belting this out in the car so makes me smile every time I hear it.

TheAmusedQuail · 15/06/2025 01:13

George Harrison - My Sweet Lord. I'm not religious, but this is such a joyful, worshipful song with completely wholesome vibes.

Jimmy Somerville - Don't Leave Me This Way.

Once in a Lifetime, Talking Heads
Patio Song, Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci
Daydream Believer, The Monkees
Drinking in LA, Bran Van 3000
Don’t Go, Hothouse Flowers
I’ll Find My Way Home, Jon & Vangelis
Starry Eyed Surprise, Paul Oakenfield

I adore The Patio Song even though I’m sure my Welsh is completely wrong when I sing along to it.

Morning has broken by Cat Stevens, full of joy and promise.
You wear it well by Rod the mod.

Morning has broken was one of my mum's favourite songs & her name was Judy. This has made me smile this morning, thank you!

Mine is "How are you?" by Pet Needs. My friend is the lead singer & just hearing his voice go "hello, how are you?" at the beginning never fails to make me smile.

Clothed · 15/06/2025 09:39

I really like MJ's "black or white"

@PrancerandDancertotally agree re Hamilton soundtrack! We’ve had many a singalong car journey when my daughter was younger.

Thank you @Clothedfor starting this thread and for everyone who’s contributed…. So many brilliant songs and brought me lots of joy listening to them this weekend.

Two more to add … Toto, Africa and Wilson Phillips, Hold On

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/06/2025 18:44

Gonna be a good day and Yes yes I can by Rayelle.

eta: and Imagine Dragons' Thunder.

MsNevermore · 15/06/2025 18:46

Boot Scootin’ Boogie is my go-to song to get myself pumped for shitty household jobs that I don’t want to do 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
Not uncommon for DH to come home from work and find me and my 5yo line dancing whilst mopping floors 😂

Picle · 15/06/2025 18:48

Status Quo - Get Down and Marguerita Time

exhaustedbeinghappy · 15/06/2025 19:02
