Has anyone got a Japanese Toilet?

We’re currently planning a bathroom refit and had decided to get a bum gun fitted after loving them on SE Asian holidays but DH has just touted the idea of a fancy smart washing, drying toilet which I’ve only ever used a couple of times in fancy hotels.

Has anyone got any experience or recommendations?

I don't have one now but did when I lived in Asia and would install one in a heartbeat if I could afford one, they're great.

Have a look at washloo.co.uk - they provide Japanese style toilets and toilet seats with wash / dry functions which are more budget friendly. We have one of their toilet seats which we fitted to a regular toilet.

I'd have a bum gun but not a Japanese toilet - the shock when I pressed the wrong button made me too uneasy!

What happens when you pressed the wrong button? 🤣

I thought they just washed front/back and dried. Is there a function I don't know about?

It’s a worthwhile investment.

The proper ones play different music or sounds so no-one can hear you pee, they have heated seats so your bum doesn't get cold in the winter. They do all sorts of stuff, it's fun trying out what all the buttons do 😆🤣

Many Japanese toilets have a bidet function, using warm water sprays to cleanse the user after use. This can include options for posterior wash, feminine wash, and oscillating sprays.
Drying:
After washing, warm air dryers are often employed to dry the user, eliminating the need for toilet paper.
Deodorizing:
Automated deodorizing systems help to neutralize odors, often with the option of a self-deodorizing feature.
Heated Seats:
Adjustable heated seats provide added comfort, especially during colder weather.
Automatic Functions:
Many toilets have automatic lids that open and close as the user approaches or leaves, as well as automatic flushing mechanisms.
Personalization:
Users can often customize settings like water temperature, water pressure, and seat temperature to their preferences.
Other Features:
Some high-end models include features like music playing (often to mask other noises), massage settings, and even germ-resistant surfaces.
